What is Riff?

Riff is a non-profit organisation offering performing arts experiences, completely free, to everyone.

The opportunities will be inclusive to everyone regardless of their age, ethnicity, experience, financial situation or any disability. We aim to make this experience both educational and fun giving everyone involved an outlet for their talent and the opportunity to be part of a larger community.

Jasmine Pearce

Jasmine - Director and Founder

Jasmine, 18,  trained with The Theatre Workshop since the age of 6 and The Young Actors Group since the age of 15. She's performed in: The UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (The Joseph Choir); Paul Hammond's production of Aladdin and Peter Pan; Bird Studio‚Äôs production of RENT, and such roles as Molly in Annie and Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors. She has also been featured in adverts, short films and voice overs for Nickelodeon.

Jasmine has always loved to perform but found her passion for all things performing arts when she wrote, directed and produced a play at the age of 13 with all profits going to the Rocking Horse Appeal. This led on to her winning The Argus Charity Achievement of the Year. Currently, Jasmine is working as a performing arts mentor at BrightonShed.

Leanne - Fundraising Manager and Head Chaperone  



Leanne, 52, has been a trained chaperone for over 20 years. During this time, she has had the pleasure of working with the professional cast of Bill Kenwright's UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Paul Hammond's Peter Pan, Jungle Book and Aladdin. Alongside this, Leanne has frequently worked with The Theatre Workshop and Alexandra's Dance Academy.

For the last 30 years, she has raised money by organising jumble sales, raffles, fetes and many more for causes such as Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain, St Catherine's Hospice, European Animal Welfare, The Rocking Horse Appeal, RSPCA, and St Peter and St James Hospice. Leanne has previously been a member of Patcham Infants fundraising committee.

Amber - Choreographer


Amber, 22, began dancing at the age of 3 at Alexandra Dance Academy and started training with The Theatre Workshop aged 6. For the past 10 years, she has been working with Dance Camp, choreographing and teaching children aged 4-18 in preparation for showcases each summer. During this time, Amber has also taught Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Commercial, Lyrical and Street at The Theatre Workshop and privately trained students for their dance exams.

Amber has appeared in a number of professional productions including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Bill Kenwright Productions), Carmen (Russian State Opera), vocal soloist in Voice in a Million (O2 London, Liverpool Echo Arena), La Vie En Rose (Brighton Fringe Festival), A Night to Remember (Brighton Dome), Aladdin, Jungle Book and Wizard of Oz (Paul Hammond Productions) and Tiger Lily in Peter Pan (Paul Hammond Productions).
